Consumer Law and Regulatory Compliance

Our Consumer Law practice is focused on the strategic defense of companies, industry associations, and nonprofit entities operating in an increasingly complex and demanding regulatory environment. The firm represents clients in both administrative and judicial proceedings and maintains direct engagement with key consumer protection, regulatory, and enforcement agencies.

Our work before the National Consumer Secretariat (SENACON) includes technical defense in market monitoring procedures and administrative sanctions, as well as negotiation of consent decrees and settlement agreements. We also prepare legal opinions and technical memoranda to support requests for formal guidance or technical notes, helping clients mitigate regulatory risks and align their practices with the principles of Brazil’s National Consumer Protection Policy.

Before state and municipal consumer protection agencies (Procons), our representation covers the entire administrative process — from responding to initial complaints and attending conciliation hearings to defending clients in sanctioning proceedings. We also design preventive strategies to minimize exposure and avoid penalties. In cases with media relevance or reputational risk, we provide rapid crisis management and institutional response.

We act before the Public Prosecutor’s Offices in investigative proceedings, civil inquiries, and public civil actions, offering substantiated legal arguments, technical presentations, and negotiated solutions aimed at consensus, sustainability, and adherence to prevailing case law. Our practice also extends to police investigations and criminal complaints related to alleged consumer offenses.

In addition, the firm represents clients in disputes involving consumer advocacy associations, including collective actions and extrajudicial claims concerning diffuse or collective rights. With a focus on regulatory compliance, we develop preventive strategies aligned with best practices in governance and institutional accountability.

We also provide specialized legal support to trade associations, representing collective interests before regulatory and supervisory bodies, participating in public hearings, shaping sectoral compliance policies, and serving as amicus curiae in matters of collective relevance.
